The Skinner Servants' Tour is Back!
THE SKINNER SERVANTS’ TOUR is a site-based play about the life of William Skinner, the premier silk manufacturer of the 20th Century from Holyoke and his two extraordinary daughters, as seen through the eyes of their family servants. Through intimate monologues and a behind-the-scenes storyline that takes you on a dramatic tour through the historic home, The Skinner Servants’ Tour reveals the disparate live of the rich and the poor in the early 1900’s, and the compelling relationship between them. It’s more than a historic house tour. It’s more than a play.

Based on primary source documents, and performed in the magnificent Wistariahurst Museum (the former mansion of the Skinner family), The Skinner Servants’ Tour tells a remarkable story of class, privilege, ambition, the power of education, labor, family, philanthropy and community pride.
