Film clips of the Holyoke Street Railway taken in the late 1930s

Silent color footage of trolley cars 178 and 116 of the Holyoke Street Railway Co. traveling into the Willimansett section of Chicopee, MA. This film was shot sometime in the late 1930s, just before the trolley system was dismantled. Footage is courtesy of the Holyoke History Room and Archives of the Holyoke Public Library.

Footage includes: the Willamansett car traveling in Chicopee, the Oakdale car at the corner of High and Appleton St., Car 118 traveling towards City Hall, a car on Dwight St., a car traveling on Canal St., car 168 turning from the corner of Appleton to High St., Schoolchildren boarding a Special Car for an outing to Mountain Park.
