In 1959 the family of Katharine Skinner donated Wistariahurst to the City of Holyoke as a museum to preserve our local history and use the past to educate and inspire current residents.

This remains the core of our work today and is reflected in our school programs; growing archives; Holyoke History Walk; on-site, online, and traveling exhibits; annual lecture series; and more.
