Join members of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, Maestro Kevin Rhodes and your friends at Wistariahurst for a special afternoon of music. Don’t miss the first performance in our Winter Ensemble Series, Nov. 20, 12:30 p.m. at Wistariahurst.
Fresh off the SSO’s performance of the monumental and brassy Bruckner 7 on Nov. 19, concert-goers will be treated to a brass quintet lead by South Hadley native and SSO Principal Trumpet, Thomas Bergeron, and featuring Gerald Serfass, Trumpet; Robert Hoyle, French Horn; Brian Diehl, Trombone, and Stephen Perry, Tuba.
These leading players of the SSO’s incomparable brass section are going on the road for a one-time-only performance at Wistariahurst in Holyoke. This is a unique opportunity to hear our superb musicians up-close and personal in an intimate setting.
Hosted by the SSO’s Music Director & Conductor, Kevin Rhodes, the program will include a light brunch and a Q&A with Maestro Rhodes, who has had an exceptionally varied career spanning concerts, opera and ballet across the globe, conducted in 15 different countries with approximately 50 different orchestras.
This is an ideal family program for children who might be studying (or may want to study) a brass instrument.
The event will take place Nov. 20 at Wistariahurst, 238 Cabot Street, Holyoke, from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 and available at Wistariahurst.org or by calling Susan Beaudry at 413.733.0636, ext. 111.
