Taking the History Forward

The exhibit has closed and for many in the community and beyond the question is “What’s next for Black Holyoke?”  The exhibit will be on display for the month of February at UMass Amherst, New Africa House. Following the showing at UMass it is my hope to exhibit in Springfield, and again in Holyoke. My desire is to make the exhibit and the history accessible to students in the community for as long as possible.

Going forward we are looking volunteers to assist with collecting more histories and endeavor to do more to make the stories available to the public. As projects, workshops, and other opportunities arise to engage with the history, I will be putting out a call to the community to get involved.

But in the meantime, if individuals would like to donate to the project/the archive there are a few different ways, via PayPal (paypal.me/blackholyoke), by becoming a patron on Patreon (www.patreon.com/blackholyoke), or by donating via the Wistariahurst website (www.wistariahurst.org/donate)
