1 graduate credit in history from the History Department at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst will be available for interested participants.
Those seeking graduate credit will be required to submit an pre-agreed upon assignment following the institute.
NEH Summer Scholars will receive a Certificate of Attendance at the end of the one-week Institute that can be translated into PDPs in the participant’s home district.

After steps 1 and 2, please send us your SPIRE ID number (e-mail [email protected] with subject line “SPIRE ID”) and we will confirm your eligibility with UMASS.
PLEASE COMPLETE STEPS 1 & 2 BY JUNE 20
Once you have been confirmed, you will be able to complete step 3 – enrolling in the class. You will not be billed until you are officially enrolled. You will need to log-in to SPIRE to view bill.
